About

Studio 804 Inc. is a leader in sustainable design with fourteen LEED Platinum projects and three Passive House certifications. It is a comprehensive educational opportunity for students at the University of Kansas School of Architecture, Design and Planning. It is a not for profit studio committed to the continued research and development of sustainable, affordable and inventive building solutions. This is done by examining, on all levels, the standards of human comfort and the nature of urban spaces. The goal each year is to provide students an experience encompassing all aspects of design and construction process from working with zoning officials to driving nails. The work focuses on the future of sustainable design and how new and emerging technologies can be combined with passive strategies and the responsible use of resources to create the type of net-zero buildings that are likely to be necessary in the not too distant future as we learn to live on a crowded planet with ongoing climate change and diminishing resources.  Studio 804, not only through their works, but through the spread of their graduates around world hopes to accelerate architecture toward the day where these technologies are a common part of all buildings built for all economic demographics.

Studio 804 and The University of Kansas Department of Architecture invites applications for Studio 804, fall semester of 2016. Successful applicants receive a one year design/build hands on experience, a Design Build certificate for 12 credit hours. To qualify for the certificate students must have a Bachelor's degree.
