Seeking Entries For Excellence in Indigenous Public Interest Design
Design Corps, the Social Economic Environmental Design (SEED) network of Design Corps, the Center for Public Interest Design, and the ITECK Program are pleased to announce the I-SEED Awards.
For the first time, these two international organizations, global network, and global program are combining efforts to support and promote Indigenous Public Interest Design with the intent of Learning by Sharing Indigenous wisdom through the built environment. This year, the I-SEED Awards will represent the greater global scale and growing relationships needed to create truly inclusive projects and cultural change in all communities. While each network has a unique focus, sharing the awards acknowledges their common ground: supporting the growth of excellence in public interest design. A total of five projects will be selected for awards through a competitive juried process.
Five winners will be selected by Design Corps and the Center for Public Interest Design that represent their principles and selection criteria. Applications are made through the SEED Network Evaluator – see criteria and application information: I-SEED Awards. Both complete and in-process work is welcome; participation by indigenous communities is prioritized.
Winning projects receive a $1,500 honorarium for a trip for one team representative to present their work at the international conference taking place at Portland State University on October 8-10th, 2026. This conference will be a joint collaboration between Design Corps and the Center for Public Interest Design at PSU:
