About

Founded in 2004, Village Life Outreach Project, Inc. is an official 501 (c)3 non-profit organization based out of Cincinnati, Ohio whose mission is to unite communities to promote Life, Health and Education. Most of Village Life's work focuses on three remote and impoverished villages in the Rorya district of Tanzania, East Africa.

Over the last ten years, we have led 19 service learning and volunteer trips to Tanzania with community leaders, professionals and students. Our community engagement model is to work in conjunction with local leaders from the villages of Roche, Nyambogo and Burere as they develop their own priorities and receive training to improve conditions. We have opened the doors to the first-ever healthcare center in Roche Village to provide basic healthcare to more than 20,000 villagers. The nutrition program in the Roche and the bike program in Nyambogo Village have helped keep thousands of children in school. We have distributed over 10,000 mosquito nets to help reduce malaria transmission in the region. Our partnership with the University of Cincinnati chapter of Engineers Without Borders has built a new school in Burere Village to replace the crumbling infrastructure surrounding students. We have organized annual mobile field clinics that have treated over 10,000 patients, and have engaged hundreds of Cincinnati students in our education projects that share experiences with students in Tanzania through art, vocabulary, and lessons of global citizenship.
