Summer School 2015
The Summer School 2015 has been established as a cooperation between the Institute of Architecture and Planning and the Werkraum Bregenzerwald in Austria. The program consisted of one Week of Arts and one Week of Crafts that the participants have both been attending. The first one, the Arts Week aimed to improve sketching, drawing and sculpturing as a direct medium of designing and communicating. The second, Crafts Week, was hosted by the Werkraum Bregenzerwald with the aim to build a temporarily two-bedroom-hotel out of a timer construction. This part of the Summer School enhanced the understanding of materials and their manufacturing methods in Scale 1:1. One of the most powerful approaches was that learning is not limited to the computer and the classroom. Students enjoyed to work and interact with local, well established craftspeople during the program and they learned through the experience in Scale 1:1.
