W'ANDERS by Julia Sigwart
The topic of the design course was "Cinerama - another kind of cinema" and aimed to create scenic spaces, a spatial conglomerate within a given context and that comprises all necessary facilities for a movie attendance.
"An alternative to big cinemas should be developed, where all kind of movies can be screened, another type of cinema, whose spaces are not generic but are special in terms of implementation, materiality, aesthetics, and atmosphere, because it is designed from the visitors point of view, another type of cinema that is created for special movies and meant to be for cineasts and connoisseurs, another type of cinema had to be completely different, something completely new, something unprecedented, something fantastic that works - 1:1.
Wanderkino (Moving cinema) Experience movies in new different circumstances, a constantly changing character, flexible - mobile - different, a place where one can experience unforgettable cineastic hours, a place to watch movies together - to discuss them, a place to linger - for exchange, W'ANDERS - different - and always somewhere else, always and everywhere, a wide audience, an extraordinary selection of movies, apart from commercial block busters, great cinema in a small space, spontaneous and uncomplicated, on the move in public space, constantly changing surrounding that gives space of someone's thoughts and emotions, a place that invites people by its openness and flexibility to experience movies in different new circumstances, my cinema goes on a journey, always somewhere else, always different, W’ANDERS can do it, W’ANDERS roves around and stops over, movie adventure, always and everywhere, W’ANDERS – anders – und immer woanders, small but powerful."
