Marta Rota works as an architect, researcher and educator. Her current work focuses on natural and bio-based building materials, such as earth. She seeks to bridge the gap between theory and practice, fostering connections between academia and practical engagement in the production of the built environment.
Marta Rota studied architecture at the Politecnico di Milano in Italy and graduated from Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands in 2014, where she received her M.Sc. in Architecture. From 2015 to 2017 she worked as a designer at LEVS Architecten in Amsterdam participating in projects realized in Mali, Africa. She participated in the research and documentation of the UNESCO World Heritage 'Cliff of Bandiagara, Land of the Dogon' in Mali for the Foundation Partners Pays-Dogon.
Marta Rota regularly gives lectures and workshops at various universities and is actively involved in research and publication. Since February 2020, she holds the position as university assistant within the Department of Architecture at the University of Arts Linz, Austria. She coordinates the teaching activities of the BASEhabitat Postgraduate Degree program.
